The True "Why" Behind Your Resolution

The changing of the year is a great time to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the coming year. It’s also a great time to set goals or make resolutions.
Many of the resolutions we make center around our body. Things like feeling better, losing weight, or getting back to running are common. Such goals are very meaningful and worthwhile.
Personally, my goal this year is to be more consistent with my workouts. I love the myriad health benefits of being on a structured fitness program and I’m excited to get back to that in 2024.
This got me thinking: Why do I really want to get back to working out more consistently? Why do I really want to improve my mobility, flexibility, strength, and endurance? I thought deeply about these questions and the answer became apparent.
For my family.
I realized that the better my health, the more present I’m able to be for my family; and for my friends and loved ones, too.
Prioritizing my health allows me to take care of tasks at home, play on the floor with my son, and go for a family walk around the neighborhood.
I heard someone say recently that, “health equals wealth.” It’s true. Having your health allows you to fully participate in life; it allows you to do the things that provide you with great meaning and purpose.
If you’ve set goals or made resolutions for 2024, what is your deeper “why?” Consider giving that some thought this new year.
Maximizing Your PT PROGRESSION: Navigating Health Insurance for Physical Therapy, Athletic Development, and Personal Training Services We Offer

Embarking on a journey of physical therapy, athletic development, or personal training is a commendable step towards optimal health. However, the complexities of health insurance can sometimes cloud the path to progress. In this article, we'll shed light on the vital aspects of health insurance, including the differences between PPO and HMO plans, understanding deductibles, co-insurance, and the exciting possibility of reimbursement rates ranging from 50-80%, even for out-of-network providers like us.
Why Out-Of-Network Physical Therapy, Athletic Development, and Personal Training Benefits You
Out-of-network providers prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring that you receive exceptional one-on-one care. This personalized attention fosters a strong provider-patient relationship, creating an environment conducive to trust, communication, and collaborative healing.
Choosing to be an out-of-network physical therapy provider is a decision rooted in a commitment to superior patient care. With a focus on customization, dedicated one-on-one time, professional autonomy, the ability to address multiple body areas, and freedom from corporate pressures, out-of-network providers elevate the physical therapy experience, putting your health and well-being at the forefront of their practice. Ultimately, this leads to improved short-term results, and builds a solid foundation for future health and wellness success.
PPO vs. HMO: Choosing Your Path to Progress
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization): PPO plans provide the freedom to choose healthcare providers, including physical therapists, without the need for referrals. This flexibility extends to out-of-network providers like us at PT PROGRESSION.
HMO (Health Maintenance Organization): HMO plans follow a more structured approach, typically requiring a primary care physician and referrals to see specialists or engage in physical therapy or athletic development services. While out-of-pocket costs may be lower, the network of providers is more restricted. These plans typically will not reimburse for out-of-network providers.
Understanding the structure of your insurance plan ensures seamless integration with your pursuit of physical therapy, athletic development, and personal training goals.
Deductibles: Clearing the Financial Hurdle
A deductible is the initial amount you must pay before your insurance coverage kicks in. Whether you're engaging in physical therapy, athletic development, or personal training, being aware of your deductible is crucial. Knowing this up-front cost helps you plan and manage your finances effectively.
Co-Insurance: Sharing the Investment in Your Well-Being
Co-insurance is the percentage of costs shared between you and your insurance provider after meeting the deductible. For instance, if your co-insurance is 20%, you cover 20% of the costs, and your insurance shoulders the remaining 80%.
Reimbursement Rates: Unlocking Financial Opportunities
The prospect of reimbursement rates ranging from 50-80% for out-of-network providers is a beacon of financial relief. This means that a significant portion of your investment in physical therapy, athletic development, or personal training sessions may be reimbursed by your insurance company, making these services more accessible than you might think. The insurance companies where we see the best reimbursements are: Blue Cross PPO, GIC, Cigna PPO, Aetna PPO, and United Healthcare PPO.
Seamless Integration of Services
At PT PROGRESSION, we recognize the interconnectedness of physical therapy, athletic development, and personal training in your journey to wellness. Our commitment goes beyond delivering exceptional services; we also strive to make the financial aspect as transparent and manageable as possible.
As an out-of-network provider, our services may be eligible for reimbursement rates that range from 50-80%, depending on your insurance company. This opens up exciting opportunities for you to invest in your athletic development and personal training. With a significant portion potentially covered by your insurance, this is typically less out-of-pocket than seeing a traditional personal trainer.
Take Charge of Your PT PROGRESSION
To maximize the benefits of your health insurance and optimize your journey with PT PROGRESSION, we recommend:
1) Review Your Plan: Understand the intricacies of your PPO or HMO plan, including deductibles, co-insurance rates, and the potential for reimbursement of athletic development and personal training services.
2) Contact Your Insurance Provider: Clarify the details of your coverage, inquire about reimbursement rates, and understand the process for filing claims for out-of-network services.
3) Embrace Your Wellness Journey: With the knowledge of potential reimbursement rates, embark on your journey of physical therapy, athletic development, and personal training with confidence, knowing that your health is an investment worth making.
At PT PROGRESSION, we're here to guide you not only through transformative physical therapy but also in maximizing the benefits of your health insurance for holistic wellness. Take the reins of your PT PROGRESSION and unlock the doors to a healthier, stronger you.
