Golf Performance Training in Greater Boston MA

At PT PROGRESSION, we are physical therapists who are experts in human movement. No one is more dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.

PT PROGRESSION analyzes and focuses intentionally on how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.

Our mission is to educate the golf industry professional and the playing public on the importance of the body and how it relates to the golf swing. We serve the Greater Boston area from our Natick MA PT Clinic.

Who Are Our Ideal Clients?

It may be the person who is fearful of movement due to nagging injuries, serious athletes dedicated to preventing future injuries who are looking to improve performance, and perhaps those who want to jumpstart their fitness routine that is customized and catered to their individual body needs.

We Work with individuals through their progression….
The PT PROGRESSION

What to expect?

PT PROGRESSION does not believe there is only one way to swing a golf club, rather there are an infinite number of swing styles. However, we do believe there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can PHYSICALLY DO.  This will not be the same for every golfer.

In order to achieve an efficient swing, a golfer MUST be screened to accurately determine the individual’s unique capabilities and/or limitations. This screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, joint and soft tissue mobility, and a full orthopedic client history.

Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include functional fitness training strength, mobility, and range of motion, or physical therapy if a contributing impairment is identified.

All physical therapists who would be doing this skilled evaluation, have completed the Titleist Performance Institute’s (TPI) rigorous academic standards. Together, we at PT PROGRESSION, bridge the gap between traditional golf ‘coaching’ and physical therapy to address the core needs of the individual.

Our Goal

Golf fitness isn’t about looking like a bodybuilder or the best player on tour. It’s about being fit and PAIN-FREE to play the game at an individual’s highest level and doing so without causing injury. It’s about understanding how physical limitations can influence the golf swing and how to address those limitations through the proper channels, whether through swing instruction, physical rehabilitation, and/or strength and conditioning exercises focused on core and kinetic chain instruction.
