What's Best for My Pain: Tylenol or Advil?

Takeaways from the NY Times Article titled, “What’s Best for My Pain: Tylenol or Advil?”
1) Two different classes of drugs, NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) or Acetaminophen
2) NSAIDs block 2 enzymes (Cox 1-2) that contribute to swelling, inflammation, and pain
3) Acetaminophen attaches to receptors in the brain and spinal cord - the mechanism for how they work is not entirely understood
4) NSAIDs are better at treating inflammation-related pain
5) Acetaminophen is best at treating pain not associated with inflammation (i.e. tension headaches)
6) Both are effective at reducing fevers
7) Both can be taken together or staggered throughout the day to get the “best of both mechanisms”
8) NSAID side effects:
a) Nausea, ulcers, kidney problems
b) Increased risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke
9) Acetaminophen side effects (less than NSAIDS):
a) Rash, nausea, constipation
b) Can be toxic to the liver - especially avoid with history of alcoholism

Construction Update: We're Building Momentum!

Exciting progress is happening on site! Over the past week, excavation was completed, and the footers have been poured to create a solid base for our new space. Most recently, the foundation walls were poured with concrete this past Friday - another big milestone checked off the list.
For those unaware, we’re building out a new 36' x 25' gym/training space (900 square feet) on the first floor with an addition onto the existing barn. Once completed, we'll have roughly 1,700 square feet of top-notch private training/athletic development space. Also, there will be three brand new physical therapy treatment rooms on the second floor to better serve our growing community.
The project is being led by our General Contractor, Pete Barsamian from Vintage Properties Inc. (https://vintagepropertiesinc.com/), who’s a total pro and well-versed in this type of work - we know we're in great hands.
Next up: we're hoping to pour the slab floor this week and start framing shortly after. We’ll keep sharing updates as we go - thanks for your patience and being part of this exciting transformation!
